Aico EI2110 Multi-Sensor Alarm with Battery Back up
The EI2110 Multi Sensor Fire Alarm from Aico contains both optical and heat sensing elements. This feature ensures that the alarm will respond to all fire types, fast flaming, slow smouldering etc, and is a great improvement over traditional single sensor alarms.
The EI2110 has an improved resistance to false alarms which is enhanced by its unique dust compensation feature which automatically adjusts for any contamination within the optical sensor chamber.
Features and Benefits
Alarm is mains powered with integral tamper-proof rechargeable lithium cells providing battery back up in the event of mains failure.
The Lithium cells are designed with a ten year expected life-span which means they will outlast the life of the alarm
The battery will provide up to six months alarm operation in the event of mains power failure
The EI2110 has a Remote Control capability which allows the alarm to be controlled from an Alarm Control Switch (EI1529RC). The alarm can be located, tested and silenced from floor level.
The EI2110 can be connected to up to 20 other 2110 and/or 160RC Series mains powered alarms
A Manual Call Point (MCP401RC) is also available
The Easi-fit base ensures quick and easy installation plus simple alarm head removal and replacement
Mains and battery power is automatically connected when the alarm is fitted to the base
The EI168RC RadioLINK base can be fitted to allow wireless interconnection of alarms and connection to RadioLINK devices.
A green indicator light confirms that mains power is present
A red indicator light will flash
every 40 seconds to confirm automatic self test
rapidly to indicate alarm state
every 10 seconds to indicate Hush mode is in operation
double flash every 40 seconds to indicate unit has previously triggered the alarm
An amber indicator will flash
every 40 seconds to indicate smoke sensor chamber needs cleaning
every 40 seconds plus audible single beep if a sensor fault is detected
Pressing and holding the Test/Hush button will result as follows
If in normal state the unit will perform a test on the alarm to check the sensors, electronics and sounder
If the unit has previously been an alarm it will cause the alarm to emit short beeps. This can aid in identifying the unit that has previously triggered the whole system
Pressing and releasing the Test/Hush button whilst the unit is in alarm will silence the unit by reducing its sensitivity. After 10 minutes the unit will automatically reset
When interconnected to other EI mains powered alarms, an alarm on one unit will trigger all other interconnected alarms and the triggered alarm indicator will flash red rapidly.
Technical Specification
The unit is kitemarked to indicate resting to BD EN 14604:2005
Meets the requirements of Grade D and Exceeds the requirements of Grades E and F, complying with BS 5839:Pt.6:2004
The CE certification guarantees compliance to Low Voltage and Electromagnetic Directives
An Optical Sensor (photoelectric) with high sensitivity photodiode and welded insect resistant mesh screen plus a fixed temperature thermistor type heat sensor enhance the fire sensing performance of this unit and reduce nuisance alarms
Unit is mains powered and has a built in tamper proof rechargeable Vanadium Pentoxide Lithium standby system capable of lasting at least 10 years and whlich is capable of powering the alarm for at least six months in the event of mains power failure
The battery cells are automatically monitored and the red LED will flash and a single beep will sound if the battery power levels are low
The unit is supplied with an Easi-fit built in surface mounting plate int integral terminal block and cable cover
The alarm is automatically connected to the power when the unit is filtted onto the base
All mains wiring is covered by a cable cover making it invisible when the alarm is removed from the ceiling
Minimum output of 85dB(A) is provided by an encased horn
The piezo disc is 35mm diameter and securely held in place with silicone mastic preventing premature horn failure
Soldered contacts are used to eliminate failures due to corrosion and arcing.
Interconnection capability is such that when one alarm sounds all interconnected alarms will sound.
Up to 20 Aico units from the 2100, 160RC, 140 and 260RC Series can be interconnected as long as no relay unit is included
Use of the integral manual Test/Hush button
Press and hold to test circuitry, sensor, horn and activation for all alarms on the system
Press and hold to check alarm memory - if the unit has been into alarn state within the previous 24 hours short beeps will be emitted when tested (not the full alarm sound)
Press and release to operate the Hush feature to silence false alarms. The red LED on the cover will flash every 10 seconds to indicate that the unit is in Hush mode and the unit will automatically reset after 10 minutes
LED Indicator lights
Constant green to indicate mains power is present
Red LED flashes every 40 seconds to indicate full auto test of circuitry and batteries
Red LED flashing rapidly to indicate alarm - will flash twice every 40 seconds if alarm has been triggered in previous 24 hours
Amber LED flashing every 40 second to indicate smoke sensing chamber required cleaning
Amber LED flashing every 40 seconds along with single beep indicates a fault on one of the sensing elements
Unique dust compensation reduces false alarms due to contamination
Remote Test, Silence and Locate facility via an EI1529RC Remote Control Switch
Test alarm - tests circuitry, sensor and horn and will activate all alarms connected into the system
Locate alarm - all units except the triggered alarm will be silenced
Silence alarm - to silence nuisance alarms. A red LED on alarm cover will flash every 10 seconds for 10 minutes before resetting
Remote alarm activation can be achieved by using a manual call point (MCP401RC).
This unit has a Radio-frequency interconnect capability when used with an EI168RC. If the EI168RC is used other RadioLINK products can be connected. An Optional EI411H remote control switch is also available
The mounting plate has an anti tamper locki8ng device to prevent unauthorised removal of the alarm
A foam gasket prevents air draughts and dust ingress into the rear of the unit
Ambient temperature range is from o to 40 degrees centigrade
